On Saturday, May 14, the City of San Gabriel, in partnership with the San Gabriel Historical Association and Pasadena Heritage, will host guided walking tours of several historic sites in the city.

The tours will include iconic San Gabriel sites such as the San Gabriel Mission, the Lopez de Lowther Adobe, the historic Mission District, museums, and the Mission Playhouse. Tickets for the tour are $18 for Pasadena Heritage members and $22 for non-members. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online atwww.pasadenaheritage.org or by calling (626) 441-6333.

The tour is just one part of the city’s participation in National Historic Preservation Month this May. The city council will issue a proclamation on May 3 and all month long the city will feature information on local history and highlight the city’s historic preservation efforts on social media, in the Council Weekly city newsletter and other communications.

In addition, the city will continue to work, in conjunction with the community, on the update to the Historic Preservation Ordinance. A draft of the new ordinance will be released for review in May.
